Paradise, California Members: Still Helping in the Wake of Forest Fires

You may remember reading recently about students from Paradise, California that, despite facing unimaginable challenges in the wake of the California wildfires, were able to experience the life-changing power of educational travel.

Thanks to WorldStrides, and partners like Embassy Suites and local businesses like Oggi’s pizza working alongside the SYTA Youth Foundation, these students were able to have the time of their lives when life was anything but normal.

SYTA Youth Foundation recently learned of yet another member going above and beyond for these deserving students.

Paradise High School’s choir had already planned to attend a Forum Music Festival before the devastating fires, so when the unthinkable happened, it was uncertain whether or not the trip could go on as planned. Forum Music Festivals and Forum Educational Travel stepped in, contacting all the partners on the student’s itinerary—the San Francisco Symphony, Hard Rock Cafe, Embassy Suites Santa Clara—to see if they would offer assistance to the group.

Each of these organizations were not only willing, but eager to help. Thanks to the generosity of those involved, Forum Music Festivals were able to provide a great experience for these student musicians that also included the festival and tickets to Great America, donated by Forum. In addition, through the efforts of the Hard Rock Cafe San Francisco, the choir also received the Hard Rock Heals grant for $5,000.

Thank you to our members and partners who go above and beyond to ensure that, despite circumstances beyond their control, students are still able to embark on life-enhancing experiences such as these.
